For travelers who refuse to compromise between luxury and adventure, this 5-day Tanzania lodge safari delivers the ultimate Northern Circuit experience. From Tarangire’s ancient baobab forests to the Serengeti’s endless golden plains, Ngorongoro’s volcanic Eden, and Lake Manyara’s treetop lions, this itinerary is a love letter to Africa’s wild heart—all while staying in handpicked lodges where comfort meets untamed beauty.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Giants of the Baobab Savannah

Your adventure begins at sunrise in Arusha, where your guide greets you with steaming kahawa (coffee) and a 4×4 stocked with binoculars and chilled drinks. The two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park unfolds into a baobab-dotted wonderland, where herds of 300+ elephants parade past your jeep, their tusks glinting in the sun. By midday, you’re picnicking along the river a 1,000-year-old baobab, laughing as vervet monkeys plot to steal your sandwich. The afternoon brings lion prides stalking zebras near the Tarangire River and rare fringe-eared oryx blending into golden grasslands. As dusk paints the sky tarangire, retreat to a lakeside lodge near Lake Manyara, where bushbabies chatter in ancient fig trees and the Milky Way arcs over your private balcony.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Lions in the Treetops

Wake to the haunting call of fish eagles and a breakfast spread of tropical fruits and mandazi (Swahili doughnuts). Today, Lake Manyara National Park reveals its quirks: lions draped like housecats over acacia branches and elephants bathing in emerald groundwater forests. Your guide navigates narrow jungle trails where blue monkeys leap overhead and buffalo herds wallow in mud pools. You’re dining lakeside by lunch, hypnotized by hippos’ grunting chorus. As the sun dips, return to your lodge for a dip in the infinity pool, sundowners in hand, and a well-prepared dinner under a star-strewn sky.

Day 3: Ngorongoro crater tour then drive to Serengeti

You’ll learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano – quite apart from the altitude – will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail carries you onto the crater floor where a unique wildlife offering is added to the sheer beauty of the experience. You’ll share the sunken ecosystem of the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos and hippos. An ecosystem that has formed in the crater in the millennia since the volcano wrought its terrible fury upon the land. It could just be one of your best safari days ever.

After your lunch at the hippo pool, will drive to Serengeti for hot dinner and overnight at your tented LUXURY CAM Camp

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – The Great Migration’s Stage

Today, the Serengeti lives up to its name—“endless plains” in Maasai. Dawn breaks with a game drive through the Seronera Valley, where cheetahs sprint after Thomson’s gazelles and leopards lounge in sausage trees. Depending on the season, you’ll witness the Great Migration: June-July brings river crossings in the western corridor (River Kirawira), August-October Mara River crossing, crocodiles snapping at wildebeest hooves, while  December-March means calving season in the southern Serengeti/Ndutu Area, where predator and prey dance a primal tango. At midday, unpack lunch under a lone acacia, then track lion prides sprawled on granite kopjes. By dusk, you’re back at camp, swapping stories around the fire with Maasai warriors, their tales as old as the savannah.

Day 5: Karatu – Highlands & Hidden Encounters

Your final morning begins with a golden-hour game drive, where elephant families amble past your jeep and bat-eared foxes dart through termite mounds. A bush breakfast under an acacia tree—complete with bubbly and fresh mango juice—seals the adventure. The drive back to Arusha winds through the Ngorongoro Highlands, where Maasai herders wave and mist clings to volcanic peaks. By sunset, you’re sipping a final Kilimanjaro beer at your hotel, scrolling through photos of tree-climbing lions, rhino sightings, and baobab silhouettes—proof that five days in Tanzania can feel like a lifetime of wonder.
