Black-capped Social Weavers live in colonies and build clusters of grass nests in thorn trees, each with an entrance pointing down. They are birds of the semi-desert, and the dry scrub around the Lark Plains is where we see them.
They are easy to find and endlessly busy, and a colony makes a good stop on the drive back to Arusha after a Beesley’s Lark morning.
