The Saddle-billed Stork is a big, solitary wader that stalks fish in shallow water with slow, deliberate steps. The yellow saddle on the bill gives it its name and makes it unmistakable at any distance.
Pairs hold large territories along rivers, so you rarely see more than two together. The Seronera River and the pools of the Tarangire River are our most reliable sites.
