The Great Migration is not an event but a year-round cycle, and seeing it well means being in the right part of the Serengeti for your dates. In the calving season the herds and their predators are on the short grass plains around Ndutu. From July they are in the north, crossing the Mara River.
We plan Serengeti itineraries around where the herds are, with mobile camps that move with them. Our month-by-month migration guide explains the pattern.
